St Margaret's Cottage

St Margaret's Cottage is a traditional stone built house which overlooks St Margaret's Hope village.

We have 2 double en-suite rooms with views over the village bay and one twin room with private bathroom. All rooms have tea/coffee facilities & TV.

The lounge has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. As the owners are Orcadian they have a lot of local knowledge to pass on.

We are ideally situated for Pentland Ferries and do an early breakfast to accommodate this service. The village is well catered for, with one hotel, two pubs, award winning seafood restaurant, shops, post office and craft shop.

For more outdoor activities we have a 9 hole golf course, bowling green, tennis court and indoor fitness suite.

The island of South Ronaldsay is ideal for walks around the coast where seals & puffins can be seen in the right season. A big tourist attraction on our island is the Tomb of the Eagles - a 5000 year old tomb which was excavated by a farmer who now runs it with his family.
