Stable Cottage

Overview

Charming converted stable, part of 16th Century house set within 8 acres of idyllic grounds. 0.5 mile from beautiful beach. Ideal tourist base.

The accommodation is ideal for a group of four, with one double bedroom and one twin-bedded room. The galley style cottage-pine kitchen is furnished with cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave & washing machine while the recently refurbished tiled bathroom has an over-bath shower and loads of storage space. A cot and high-chair can be provided if required.

The cottage is simply and sympathetically furnished with all modern amenities including central heating and double glazing.

Traditional features such as a stable door, shuttered windows and an open fire-place add charm & comfort.

The comfortable lounge & dining area enjoy views over the lawns, & offer the opportunity to perhaps catch a glimpse of the deer which pass through the grounds.

All rates are inclusive of electricity and bed-linen, however towels are only supplied if you are arriving from overseas. We look forward to giving you the warmest of Highland welcomes on your arrival at Stable Cottage, where Dave and Yvonne assure you of a friendly personal service throughout the duration of your stay.

Built in 1750, and converted around 30 years ago, you will find that time stands still at Stable Cottage - there are no clocks or telephones - simply relax and unwind as you enjoy a break away from the stresses of everyday life.

This 'B' listed cottage is set in eight acres of garden near the historic 'A' listed ruin of Glassaugh House, ancestral home to the Abercrombie, Duff and and Ogilvy families and a place the great-grandmother of Lord Byron once called home.

Other illustrious former residents include the great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandparents of Camilla Parker-Bowles, who lived in the adjoining part of the house which dates from 1529.
