Fortingall has been described as the most attractive of Highland villages, with thatched cottages looking over open farmland to Drummond Hill. It is famous for its Yew - the oldest tree in Europe, and the legend that Pontius Pilate was born there! The village has a licensed hotel, The Fortingall Hotel and there is a small general shop four miles away in Kenmore. Aberfeldy, 8 miles away, has a range of shops
Fortingall is well placed to explore Highland Perthshire with beautiful Glen Lyon, Scotland's longest glen and Loch Tay nearby. There are many Munro mountains in the area, plus opportunities for golf, fishing, cycling, horse riding, boating and white water rafting. There is a Leisure Centre in Aberfeldy and a theatre in Pitlochry.
