Steading Cottage, Kirkmabreck Farm

Welcome to The Steading Cottage on Kirkmabreck. A newly renovated farm cottage set in the heart of a working farm, nestled on the edge of the beautiful Galloway hills, overlooking Wigtown Bay. It offers comfortable accommodation for 4 to 5 people.

We would like to welcome to The Steading Cottage at Kirkmabreck which has been worked by our family for four generations. This recently renovated farm cottage sits in the heart of a busy working, upland farm which  breeds native Galloway Cattle and Black Face Sheep and is known as The Home of The White Galloway.

Kirkmabreck Farm sits on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Wigtown Bay with panoramic views over The Machars and out to  The Irish Sea and The Isle of Man. It is 3miles from Creetown, where you can find small village stores, an excellent butcher and a cafĂ© in The Gem Rock Museum. It is also 9miles from the market town of Newton Stewart which has larger supermarkets and a variety of shops, restaurants and amenities, including a swimming pool and 10 miles from the picturesque town of Gatehouse of Fleet which also has many good places to eat

The cottage has two bedrooms, a king size bed in one room and two singles with an additional bed chair in the other, this enables the cottage to sleep five comfortably. It has a large open plan dinning and sitting room with a multi fuel stove, a fully fitted kitchen and a lovely fresh bathroom with a shower over the bath. It is well insulated and has oil central heating. There is an enclosed garden, parking and a secure out building. This out building has a pulley, tumble drier and good space for storing bikes and drying wet outdoor clothes. This is useful for those wishing to discover the many lovely local walks, gentle climbs or the many mountain bike routes within the 7 Stanes, Galloway Forrest Park.

Our cottage is in a peaceful location yet easily accessed as it is only half a mile from the main A75. This area is truly a hidden gem with its hills, beaches an wide open spaces for all to enjoy.
