    SHORT BREAKS/WEEKENDS AVAILABLE FROM £350 With diverse scenery from mountains, glens and ancient woodlands to fresh water and sea lochs, there is a wide range of sporting and leisure past-times which can be enjoyed in this area. If a more relaxing pace is desired, just touring around enjoying the dramatic and unique scenery is a great way to experience this area with a huge number of places to visit, from small villages to castles and a wide selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants where fresh local produce can be enjoyed. For day trips, within easy reach are Loch Lomond, Oban, Glen Coe and Fort William. Closer are Inverary and Tignabruich.

    This part of the west coast has an abundance of lochs both sea and fresh water, for fishing, sailing and boating, rivers for canoeists and hills and mountains for walkers and climbers. Golfers are spoiled for choice with many courses within easy reach. If closer to home, there are mountain bikes at the Lodge and you could take an easy 10 minute cycle along to Invercottage restaurant for lunch or dinner, Or cycle on round to Newton, an old and very pretty small fishing village where private boat hire can be arranged if you just have to get out on the water! There is also a great deal of wild life to see around the Lodge from red deer, grouse, pheasant and different hawks including eagles. If all that sounds too active, just relax on the deck or in the large garden during the day and soak up the scenery and atmosphere. Relax by the log fire in the evening and just enjoy the magic of a very special place that will rejuvenate and restore a sense of balance and perspective.

    Strathlachlan Lodge is located in a secluded and tranquil setting and sits in its own private grounds in Strathlachlan on the banks of Loch Fyne. The property has an entrance lobby with hallway leading off to all accommodation and has wooden wall panelling throughout in a New England/boathouse style. The Lodge has a large lounge with log burning fire, sofas, dining table and chairs with patio doors to the terrace and view down the valley. There is a large fully-equipped country style kitchen with (gas range), a snug sitting-room (with emergency sofa bed), two bedrooms one double and one twin,one bathroom and one shower room both with power showers and WCs all with views to the hills and forest. Upstairs there is a third bedroom.The upstairs bedroom is accesed from the snug sitting room and means that kids can have there own living space with a den downstairs complete with TV,DVD and PS3 and bedroom upsairs The Lodge is furnished with comfortable, quality traditional rustic mainly oak furniture together with artwork and many other nice touches that will please and enhance your stay. Outside there is a log store with garden furniture including dining table and chairs on the terrace with various other seating in different areas of the garden.BBQ,Midge eater.3 car parking area.

    Road Directions

    From Glasgow to Strathlachlan is about 65 miles, normally 1.5 hours drive. Take the A82 passing Loch Lomond then at Tarbet take the A83 to Inverary passing through Arrochar and then going up and over the Rest and Be Thankful pass. Just before Cairndow go left onto the A815 to Strachur. At Strachur turn right on to the A886 to Tighnabruaich, follow this road for about two miles then take the B8000 to Otter Ferry and follow this for three miles. When you pass a red phone box on your left, Strathlachlan is the next group of cottages on your right. Strathlachlan Lodge is the second property. Alternatively if you prefer a shorter drive you can take the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon and the drive to Strachur and then on to Strathlachlan is about an hour.
