There are stunning but easy walks around the harbour, the modernised marina or along the coastline paths to quiet bays. Prominent on the hillside is Robert the Bruce's castle, steeped in history but still the focal point of the village.
Walking, golfing, horse riding, fishing and wildlife are all easily accessible, as are ferries to the Islands of Gigha, Islay and Arran.
The upstairs lounge and both front facing bedrooms have picturesque views over the harbour, bustling with fishing boats and pleasure craft.
