A traditional barn converted to luxury accommodation in the Spring of 2008 situated in a beautiful secluded glen just 13.5 miles from Oban on a 1000 acre family run hill farm which has a flock of Scottish Blackface ewes and a herd of Luing cows
The Barn overlooks Loch Scammadale and the views from the lounge and patio are outstanding, the loch view changes continuously, and provides an excellent place for watching wildlife and the daily farming activities. There is free fishing (brown trout, salmon and sea trout) on the loch and on a 1 mile stretch of the River Euchar for residents, all of which are easily accessible.
Walking and cycling are popular with the glen road being relatively flat and a no through road and for the more adventurous hill walkers and mountain bikers there is ample scope in the immediate area plus well known attractions close by. It is an ideal base for all types of exploration of the West Highlands and Islands with lots of local areas of historical interest. Oban and the surrounding area also provide a wide selection of good places to eat out.
The Barn is fitted and furnished to a high standard with most modern appliances to make your stay as comfortable as possible including central heating and flat screen free sat. TV. It sleeps up to 6 adults (cot available) with a king size double in the master bedroom and 2 twin rooms. Open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge which leads out onto the patio also downstairs is a shower room, separate toilet and one of the twin rooms all suitable for persons with some disabilities. There are also 2 large cupboards for storage. Upstairs is the master bedroom and the other twin room, family bathroom with shower , a reading area and another lounge/play area with a DVD player and CD player.
There is good access with a ramp to the main door, parking and storage shed for bikes/canoes/wellies etc and drying outdoor gear and the patio has table, chairs and gas BBQ.
Prices start from £500 per week inc VAT, open all year with out of season packages and short breaks.
We also can offer stabling/grazing for anyone wanting to bring their horse on holiday, charges apply.
