Overview

an ideal base for your stay in the cairngorms and aviemore area , we are situated in the centre of the peacefull village of boat of garten ( the osprey village) and a short walk from the golf course, a couple of minutes from some beautiful forest walks and five minutes from the famous steam railway.

We are a five minute drive to the Osprey centre, ten minutes from Aviemore and fifteen minutes from Grantown on Spey, there is plenty to do and see within a short distance of us , such as skiing walking climbing, birdwhatching wildlife whiskey distillers golf, fishing shooting , castles and lochs watersports(canoeing, rafting etc,etc) wildlife park, reindeer , dog sleding,adventure park and plenty of sight seeing in and around the cairngorm national park. the list goes on.

Road Directions

From Aviemore follow the A95 Grantown Road for approximately 3-4 miles. Turn right at sign post to Boat of Garten. 3/4 of a mile along this road is the Boat House Guest House on the right opposite M & B stores and the caravan park from the north (inverness) turn left for carrbridge/ grantown on spey and follow the sign for boat of gaten (turn right in carrbridge at the fork in the road and continue through and out of the village after a mile or so turn left onto the A95 towards grantown then turn right into boat of garten as sign posted again you will find us of the right hand side just after the village green opposite the caravan park. if you are travelling from the east (grantown ) contiue from grantown on the A95 towards aviemore past the heather centre and through drumullie just as you leave drumullie turn left at the saw mill (if you miss this turning dont worry continue along the A95 for about 1 mile the turn left at the school) if you made the 1st left at the sawmill continue along this small road past the old mill pond and turn right at the t junction up the hill into the village bear right at the hotel and continue up the road you will find us on the left opposite M&B stores

Getting there by railway:- Mainline Edinburgh to Inverness via Aviemore. or transfer to Boat of Garten on the Steam Railway.

Getting there by aeroplane:- To Inverness 40mins / Aberdeen 2hrs/ Glasgow 3hs / Edinburgh 2 1/2hrs

getting there by coach/ bus citylink, national express and megabus to aviemore and then service bus for grantown bus stops are within 100 meters of us please note that there are no service busses from the village to aviemore on sundays you could take the steam train or taxis there is also cycle hire here in the village aswell the service bus runs between grantown and cairngorm ski centre via aviemore
