The Bothy is part of a larger farm building which has been converted for living. There is an artist's studio at the other end of the building.
The Bothy comprises a downstairs all-in-one living room, kitchenette and shower room with toilet and an upstairs bedroom accessible by somewhat steep stairs. It is centrally heated and also has a wood-burning stove; it has a cosy feel and all the necessary equipment for a perfect self-catering stay.
The Log House is brand new and is nestled in a secluded spot on the farm allowing complete privacy. It is south facing and has decking at the front for outdoor dining and relaxing.
The building consists of a living room, en suite bedroom and a combined kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room has a spare bed as well as a sofa and digital TV, the bedroom has a full size double bed. The spacious bathroom has a shower, hair dryer and fan heater. The whole building is furnished in a homely and tasteful manner and heated with a multi-fuel stove. Wood and coal are available free of charge.
The Farm is situated along a quiet country road, on top of a hill, with views of the sea and the hills. However, it is not isolated and there are other families living on the premises. It has 12 acres of woodland for walks and picnics and also comprises a working tree and wildflower nursery. The many trees surrounding it give it a charming and secluded feel and an outside bread oven is available for use.
Art tuition can be had by arrangement, also an electric piano on request. A washing machine is available.
Nearby facilities include a large supermarket (3 miles), golf courses, horse riding, an open air heated sea water swimming pool and indoor pools, sea and river fishing in season. There are many good restaurants in and around Aberdeen and Stonehaven, both towns are only 20 minutes away by car. Royal Deeside, with its many castles, is within easy reach. Brochures for many attractions and activities are available on the premises.
