    The Broch & The Rock House are Borve Lodge Estate's premier self-catering properties. These award winning designs offer luxurious accomodation for couples seeking the perfect retreat overlooking the Harris Beaches and the Atlantic beyond.

    Accommodation at Borve Lodge Estate is as unique as the environment, to maximise the experience of travelling to the remote Scottish island of Harris.

    Our two lead dwellings, The Rock House and The Broch, have been built in the most environmentally sympathetic way possible to the stark Harris landscape. Where possible, we used materials directly from the Estate.

    The result is that both buildings are married into the landscape, and many passing travellers comment that they do not see the buildings at first glance, as both look part of the hillside.

    But within each house, amenities are very 21st Century. Under-floor heating and piping hot water comes from air-source heat pumps, ensuring a cosy interior for those inevitable rainy Harris days and nights. Satellite TV and wireless internet provide connectivity during your chill-out time on Harris. And we get no complaints of anyone tiring of the view.

    Road Directions

     Borve Lodge Estate is on the A859 between Leverburgh and Tarbert in the heart of the village of Borve. 

    Public Transport Directions

     From the nearest information centre:- Twenty minutes drive on the A859 by bus or car from Tarbert TIC.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- One hour and 15 minutes drive from Stornoway Airport (bus or car) with direct flights to Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow.  Car Hire or Collection from Airport can be arranged

    Getting there by ferry:- The quickest connection to the mainland is via Uig in Skye which sails to Tarbert (see CalMac ferries). Berneray to Leverburgh is ideal if you are exploring the Uists. Alternatively you can sail from Ullapool to Stornoway.  Car Hire or Collection from Ferry Terminals can be arranged.
