The Byre - Auldgirth - Dumfries and Galloway

Spacious and comfortable, modern yet full of character, this lovely byre sleeps between one and eight people and is an enchanting country retreat for everyone from honeymooners to families and large groups. Elegantly furnished, the cottage comprises of a bright and open living and dining room, fully equipped country kitchen, romantic countryside views from two en suite bedrooms and cosy underfloor heating. Children can play safely in the lovely garden and patio and will have fun for hours in the games room. There's no need to bring your own bikes as the owners can supply these, as well as elegant patio furniture and a barbeque for making the most of a pleasant summer evening.

Explore the farm and see sheep, cattle, ponies and ducks. Between the months of March and June, guests are also welcome to feed the pet lambs; a particularly exciting prospect for young children. The Byre provides a walking leaflet of superb walking routes round the countryside which vary in length depending on your interests, while cyclists will delight in the close proximity to all of the world-class 7stanes mountain biking centres. For star-gazing, wildlife spotting, forest treks and peaceful strolls, the Galloway Forest Park is around an hour and a half's drive from the Byre and is a must when visiting the area.
