The Cairn

Self Catering

Main Street, Aberlady, East Lothian, EH32 0RA

The Cairn is a high-specification traditional property boasting one of the best views in Aberlady. Rooms are light, airy and well appointed.

The large cottage garden provides a sunny, safe haven for relaxing, socializing or playing (whatever your age!) The Cairn is situated in the very heart of the small conservation village of Aberlady in East Lothian, on the Firth of Forth - an area renowned for its natural beauty, sunny micro-climate, ornithology, cycling and world-class golf courses.
Fitted out and furnished to exacting standards and featuring high ceilings throughout, The Cairn comfortably accommodates up to four adults in what is a well-appointed self-catering holiday home.
As well as the stunning sea views over Aberlady Bay nature reserve (a site of special scientific importance) at the front of the property, the rear overlooks the large south-facing, private garden and patio area. This gets the sun all day and has a good sized lawn for children to play on as well as a generous patio area for relaxing or dining al-fresco utilising the supplied outdoor furniture and barbeque.
Aberlady has two village pubs offering varied and different menus; free wi-fi, open fires and all the 'local' hospitality you could hope for. Gullane is a short bus or taxi ride away with more pubs and award winning restaurants Chez Roux at Greywalls and La Potiniere.
For your quieter days or evenings, the living room has a good sized HD television, DVD player, Sony stereo with digital tuner, mp3 CD player and iPod docking station. Also provided for your entertainment is a good stock of books, DVD's, and an assortment of toys and games suitable for the very young to 'mature' alike.
Owned and run by a local couple who previously called The Cairn their home, they have lived in the village for over 30 years and are pleased to offer a personal service to holiday makers at The Cairn. They will do their best to make any extra arrangements you might need, prior to and during your stay. Being keen golfers and travellers themselves, this can vary from organising tee-times to airport transfers and imparting gems of "local knowledge" that may make your stay here even more memorable.
The following are all included in the price of your stay at The Cairn; Gas & Electricity (including Hot Water & Central Heating), Bed Linen, Duvets & Pillows (all duvets are Silentnight anti-allergy), Tea Towels, Bath & Hand Towels. A travel cot and highchair can be provided (free of charge) on request.
Private, off-street parking is available at the rear of the property and secure storage is available for bikes and/or golf clubs.
The Cairn is available to let all year round. With this in mind, 24/7/365 emergency breakdown cover is in place with Scottish Gas for the boiler, hot water and central heating to give you added reassurance.

We are really sorry, but pets can't stay at The Cairn and smoking inside is not permitted.
