    This tiny village clings to the base of the towering sandstone cliffs,the seashore is just a few metres away from the main street. The whitewashed houses line the small street and The Harbour House is in a prime location opposite the lovely 18th century harbour.


    Pennan is a wonderful location for exploring the coastal villages and market towns of rural Aberdeenshire.

    This area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are several internationally acclaimed bird watching sites close to Pennan.There are also wonderful opportunities for walking, golfing and sea fishing trips in the area.

    Pennan is situated on the B9031 halfway between Fraserburgh and Banff.
    Driving time from Aberdeen is around 1 hour
    Driving time from Inverness is around 2.5 hours.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From the TIC in Banff, turn left and proceed over the Banff bridge following the road around to the left through Macduff. As you are leaving Macduff, you will see Royal Tarlair Golf Course.
    Just past the golf course, there will be a brown tourist sign saying "Coastal Trail" and Pennan -turn left along this road.
    Stay on the B9031 Pennan be signposted on the left after around 9 miles.
    Turn down the steep winding road into the village,turn right ,go over small bridge and The Harbour House is situated on the right.


    Getting there by railway:- Inverurie Station 25 miles

    Huntly Station 30 miles



    Getting there by aeroplane:- Aberdeen Airport -driving time 1 hour
    Inverness Airport -driving time 2-2.5 hours
