This 200-year-old former coaching inn makes the perfect base for a golfing, walking or touring holiday in Dumfries & Galloway.
The historic King's Arms Hotel offers modern amenities with a warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere and great Scottish hospitality. The hotel has 10 attractively furnished rooms, all en suite with colour TV and tea and coffee facilities. There is also a self-contained apartment complete with two twin rooms and a kitchen.
The hotel enjoys a fine reputation for its extensive and imaginative menu, using delicious locally sourced produce such as the finest Galloway beef and Solway salmon. As for breakfast, the full meal will keep you going all day, whatever you're doing. For your convenience an early breakfast can be served if you are teeing off early, and you can have a late dinner too after your triumphant day on the nearby greens. Dine in the à la carte restaurant overlooking the hotel's courtyard and admire the beautiful magnolia tree as you enjoy a sumptuous meal. The residents' lounge, complete with 42 inch television and domino and card table, is very popular with guests.
This is a superb place to come for mountain biking, as it is only 6 miles from the 7stanes mountain biking centre at Dalbeattie, with Mabie and Kirroughtree only 30 minutes drive away. This is also a great base for a golfing holiday as there are 30 courses across the region including the revered links courses at Southerness and Powfoot.
