The Meadows

Make West Linton your first stop in Scotland. On the A702-the main Edinburgh/Carlisle road- we are only 11miles from the Edinburgh City By-Pass, with easy access to the airport, the Forth Bridge and the North and of course Edinburgh city..

Stay in West Linton and enjoy visiting Edinburgh with it's International and Fringe Festivals, Tattoo, Botanic Gardens, Zoo, Historic Buildings and exciting shops. There is a local bus service or you can park at Hillend or Penicuik and take the Edinburgh city buses into the centre. There will be a Park & Ride opening at Straiton this summer which will help those who do not want to take their car into the city.

Local attractions are Rosslyn Chapel in the village of Roslin. The Pentlands Science Park and Bio Technology Centre at the Bush near Penicuik are also only a short drive away.

West Linton is an attractive historic village on the old Drove road where cattle and sheep were driven south to the English markets, some of the stone carving dated back to the 16th century, a village heritage trail makes a pleasant short walk whilst being at the edge of the Pentlands the surrounding area offers several longer walks. 'End to enders' those walking from John O'Groats to Lands End frequently enjoy a comfortable night and meal at The Meadows-ensuite facilities available in the double room.

West Linton has now 2 golf courses within 2 miles.

The Meadows B&B is only a five minute walk to the village where there is an excellent restaurant and a couple of pubs where you can enjoy good food and a relaxing evening before visiting Castles, Stately Homes, Central Scotland, The Scottish Borders and beyond.

Easy parking at the Meadows, bikers are welcome to keep their bikes secure in the garage.

Dogs are welcome.
