The Old Church

This is a former church building, recently converted with all modern conveniences, while keeping an "old" feel to the building by use of reclaimed doors and flooring and using all natural materials where possible. The site is remarkable for its feeling of peace, which most people experience on entering. It sits on the edge of the location of the battle of Dalrigh in 1306 fought by Robert the Bruce, and also close to St Fillans Priory and the Holy Pool which was long regarded as possessing healing properties. A wee wander down to the White Bridge can do wonders for the soul. So far no ghosts have appeared!

There is no shortage of walks, long and short, close at hand. The West Highland Way passes nearby, Tyndrum is one mile by road or footpath and Crianlarich is 3 miles. Access to many high hills is usually easy (much munro bagging can be had). Fishing, hillwalking, golfing, sailing and bird-watching are easily accessible.

By car, train or bus your time can be easily filled with day trips to beauty spots, historical sites and some of our lovely islands. A short distance away are Oban, Fort William and Glencoe. Furthermore, the accommodation is situated in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
