The Old Dairy

Overview

Dating back to the early nineteenth century this former dairy has been converted to an extremely high standard providing spacious and luxurious accommodation for four people.

The cottage is tastefully furnished throughout with mainly antiques. All the main rooms are large and include sitting room with log burning stove, 2 double bedrooms one with king size bed the other with twin beds, newly fitted dining kitchen, and utility room. In addition the cottage has the unusual benefit of an integral garage providing secure parking as well as safe storage for bikes, golf equipment and fishing rods (the garage is fitted with rod rack and freezer).

Melrose is a superb base both for the sightseer and the sports minded. There is a wonderful range of abbeys, castles and stately homes to explore, whilst for the lover of outdoor sports there is top class fishing, golf, mountain biking and walking.

Melrose has some of the best eating-houses in the borders and its many small shops provide a reminder of how shopping used to be. We are happy to provide advice on places to visit, golf (3day and 5day passports entitling you to play on any of 18 courses in the borders!) fishing permits, walking and cycling routes.

The world famous rugby sevens began at Melrose and the annual sevens tournament in April is a must for rugby enthusiasts. The annual pipe band competition and book festival add to the diverse appeal of this vibrant border town.
