The Old Schoolhouse is set within 3 acres of private woodland and offers luxury accommodation with stunning 360 degree views. Each of the rooms have been stylishly decorated and beautifully furnished with your absolute comfort in mind. The living room has an original open fireplace, a LCD TV, a DVD player, a Nintendo Wii with various games as well as a selection of games, books and DVDs - all perfect for rainy days. There is another fireplace in the large open plan dining and kitchen area. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a TV and DVD player and the double room and twin bedroom are also tastefully furnished. The attractive period bathroom is a triumph, with its original, roll-top bath and fabulous décor and has a separate spacious shower room. Quality bed linen and towels are provided.
Unwind in the huge gardens while the children play in the paddling pool and with the provided toys or take a walk in the surrounding woodland with its two burns and wild flowers and wildlife a-plenty: in autumn you can pick fruit from the apple trees, and in summer, make the most of the long summer evenings with the fire-pit barbecue.
The market town of Dumfries is just five miles away and it boasts a range of historical tourist sites including the Robert Burns Centre and House, Family History Research Centre and the Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura. If you plan to make the most of the great outdoors, this is also the ideal base for mountain biking, pony trekking, golf, walking and watersports.
