    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From Kirkwall T.I.C go on to Junction Road turn left on to Castle Street turn right on to Broad Street go past the cathedral and carry on down Victoria Street. The Orkney Hotel is 100 m on the left hand side.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- British Airways (UK) either from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Wick or Sumburgh (Shetland) to Kirkwall (Orkney).

    When you leave Kirkwall airport turn right and follow A960. This road will then lead onto Deerness Road, down onto Bignold park Road and Dundas Crescent and then down Palace Road. The St. Magnus Cathedral will be on the right hand side when you drive down Palace Road. Once you reach the bottom of Palace Road, you should turn left into Victoria Street and the hotel is on your left hand side.

    ** Please note that limited parking is available at the front of the hotel. Should this be full on your arrival our reception staff will be happy to direct you to the nearest alternative parking facility.

    Getting there by ferry:- NorthLink Ferries from Aberdeen or Lerwick to Kirkwall. NorthLink Ferries from Scrabster to Stromness. Pentland Ferries from Gills Bay to St Margaret's Hope. John o' Groats ferries from John o' Groats to Burwick (May - September)

    From Ferry Terminal Stromness:
    When leaving the ferry terminal, turn right and follow Ferry Road onto the A965 out of Stromness. The A965 then goes through the villages of Stenness and Finstown before reaching Kirkwall. Follow Hatston Brae into Kirkwall and then turn right at the roundabout into Pickaquoy road. Turn left at the next roundabout onto Junction Road and then turn right at Castle Street.
