The Preston Tower Apartment, Fyvie Castle

Overview

Tradition claims that the castle's five successive families - Preston, Meldrum, Seton, Gordon and Forbes-Leith - each added a tower to this magnificent Scottish Baronial fortress. The Preston and Seton families built the towers forming the East Wing in the 14th and 17th centuries respectively.

The castle is located within extensive grounds; visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the beautiful walled garden, parkland and loch, and then relax with a cup of tea and a piece of delicious homebaking in the tearoom. The Preston Tower Apartment is in the east wing and offers you the opportunity to stay in this fabulous castle, which has welcomed many important guests in its past, among them Robert the Bruce, Edward I and Charles I. This pleasant and very unusual apartment, in the Preston and Seton Towers, is constructed between four floors with a number of intermediate floors, and is accessed via a spiral staircase. The apartment is furnished to a high standard with predominantly antique furniture.

Sleeping 13, this property makes an ideal base for a family reunion, special birthday, anniversary, or simply a fun get-together with friends. Just 7 miles from Turriff, Fyvie is at the heart of the Castle Trail and within easy access of salmon-fishing rivers, malt whisky distilleries, 18-hole golf courses and fabulous walking opportunities - the perfect Scottish holiday destination.

The apartment comprises: seven bedrooms (three double, three twin and one single); grand dining room; fully-equipped kitchen; drawing room; study; two bathrooms (one with bath and shower and one with bath only); two additional WCs; cloakrooms; interesting study, tower room and turret rooms situated on the fourth floor.

Short breaks available Friday-Monday and Monday-Friday. Full weeks run Saturday - Saturday.

Discounted prices are available for smaller groups within 1 month of departure. Please contact NTS Holidays Department on 0844 493 2108 for further details.
