Situated in walled gardens overlooking the sea, this comfortable farmhouse provides an ecclectic mix of the old and new, providing very comfortable accommodation.

Antiques, open fires, sea views from your enormous bed and a dawn chorus of curlews and oyster catchers will all make your trip memorable.

Conveniently located for ferries to Hoy. Stromness and Kirkwall are only a short drive away. An ideal base for good walking and world heritage sites.

We also offer a range of luxury self catering cottages, please see our website www.luxuryselfcateringholidaycottages.co.uk The Quoy of Houton is beautifully positioned on the Houton headland, just a two minute stroll away from the beach where seals are regular visitors.
The shallow bay is ideally suited to many migrating birds and oyster catchers, skuas, curlews ,plovers, sanderlings and eider ducks are regular visitors.
For those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, the bay provides a safe area for canoeing and trout fishing. The Quoy of Houton has plenty of storage space for any equipment you may need.
Cyclists and motor cyclists are also well provided for, with outside taps and large barns for the overnight stay of their bikes!

Our visitors enjoy fantastic views fom the well equipped and comfortable accommadation across Scapa Flow (with its sunken German fleet) to the islands of Hoy, Cava and Flotta.

This 18th Century traditional farmhouse, complete with 'crowsteps' , flagged floors and many period features is sheltered within a large, pretty walled garden where breakfast can be taken on the south facing flag-stone terrace

Delicious evening meals using locally sourced produce can be enjoyed on the cosy dining room. The Quoy provides an idyllic location, where every effort has been made to provide a warm, welcoming relaxing atmosphere, where our visitors can un-wind and enjoy the unique Orcadian island atmosphere.

The Quoy of Houton is conveniently sited, just 10 minutes from both the quaint, historic fishing towns of Stromness and 15 minutes from Kirkwall, and located just 5 minutes walk away from the Hoy ferry and sight seeing boat trips.
Many of the Orkney historical sites are within a 15 minute drive including the world heritage sights of the ring of Brodgar and Maeshowe burial tomb. Skara Brae and the beautiful Bay of Skaill are a further 15 minutes away.
