The Rumblie Guest House is located in the small highland village of Laggan.

The Rumblie provides peaceful, comfortable and friendly accommodation within the Cairngorms National Park, about 2 miles from Wolftrax Mountain Bike Centre and ideally placed for exploring the dramatic local scenery and beyond or just a convenient stop over for journeys further North or West. We are situated on the East Highland Way and can collect guests from the Pattack Falls area to ensure the days walk is not too long.

We use organic, home grown and Fair Trade products whenever possible and take an ethical stance hence our Green Award. We offer a wide choice at Breakfast, with vegetarians and special diets catered for (prior notice appreciated), with our Set Menu 3 Course Evening meal finishing off the day.

All our bedrooms are non-smoking, beautifully decorated, well appointed, spacious with views to mountains and our garden.

Our 2013 tariff is £45 per person per night if staying 1 or 2 nights with us, reducing to £40 per person per night if you stay for 3 nights or more.

Eating Out Facilities within 2 miles - The local hotel (2 miles) serves Bar/Evening Meals. The road is unlit and there is no pavement, in late season & winter they might not be open.
Evening Meal By Arrangement - Usually served at 7.30pm on a pre booked basis only. Please advise us in advance of your stay if you would like an Evening Meal on the day of arrival. Evening meals are not always possible on Wednesdays or Thursdays - please ask We offer a 3 course meal (£25 per person) on a set menu basis always taking into account any allegeries or dislikes of particular food. A lighter meal can be arranged i.e Soup & Sandwich/Cheese if desired
Full Alcohol Drinks License - We offer our guests a range of Organic wines & beers, along with local beers and a range of whisky.
Gluten Free - We appreciate notice in advance of your stay to ensure we are able to cater for your requirments. Many of the items at Breakfast are gulten free.
Nut Free Meals - We are happy to cater for Nut Free diets - prior notice when booking appreciated.
Organic Food - Over 90% of the food that we serve is organic.
Shop within 2 Miles / Mobile Shop - Laggan has a well stocked village shop.
Vegetarian Food Available - Our Breakfast menu offers a good choice for vegetarian guests, if booking for an evening meal please advise you are vegetarian.

Road Directions

.From the south - take the A9 to Dalwhinne then the A889 to the junction with A86 - turn right on to A86 and cross over the bridge (River Spey) and then turn left - signposted Garva & Gergask. The Rumblie is then 250 mtrs - 2nd left turn.
From the North - A9 to Kingussie and join A86, stay on A86 (signposted Fort William) to Laggan - then turn right signposted Garva & Gergask. The Rumblie is then 250 mtrs - 2nd left turn

From the West (Fort William/Spean Bridge) - take the A82 north to Spean Bridge and turn right on to the A86 in Spean Bridge - signposted Cairngorms National Park, the distance board refers to "Laggan Bridge" that's where we are. Continue on this road to the village of Laggan, cross over the River Spey and take the right hand turn signposted Garva and Gergask. The Rumblie is then 250 mtrs - left hand turn and there is a sign on the corner.

From Skye & Noth West - Take the A82 towards Fort William and turn left at Spean Bridge on to the A86

Public Transport Directions

Getting there by railway:- Regular train services stop at Kingussie & Newtonmore - and we are happy to collect guests from the station.

Getting there by aeroplane:- Inverness Airport which has regular flights from UK & some european cities is approximately 54 miles from Laggan.
Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports, with regular flights from Europe and America, are approximately 100 miles from Laggan.

Unfortunately there is no public transport directly to the village, stations & coach/bus stops in Kingussie, Newtonmore & Dalwhinnie
