The Sheiling has one twin and two double bedrooms, all equipped with good quality en-suite shower rooms. The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and televisions are available. Two of the bedrooms enjoy the spectacular view over Melvich Bay and the Atlantic, the third overlooks the garden. Covered storage for cycles and drying facilities are available.
The location is ideal for visitors to enjoy the coastal walks, surfing, fishing or just to sit on the beautiful beach watching the sea. Strathy Point is within a few minutes drive and is a well known spot for visitors to see whales or dolphins. The RSPB reserve at Forsinard, Castle of Mey and John O' Groats are all within easy reach. There is a daily car ferry to Orkney from Scrabster harbour approximately 20 minutes drive away. A passenger ferry service which is met by a coach providing day tours of Orkney operates daily from John O' Groats, as do wildlife cruises. Golf courses are situated in Reay, Thurso and Wick, all within easy reach.
