The stone property, which was built in 1873, nestles on a hillside within a beautiful wooded area amid the rolling hills of North East Fife. This peaceful rural location has open panoramic views down the valley towards St Andrews Bay from the very spacious south east facing sitting room. An adjoining large games room converted from the byre (cow shed) is available for guests use. The Stables is perfectly situated for exploring Fife, Angus, Perthshire and beyond and has easy access to many parts of Scotland.
The Stables sleeps four. It has a large family bedroom with a double bed and single bed, a single bedroom and a small double sofa bed in the sitting room if needed.
The village of Gauldry less than two miles away, has a shop with a sub post office The "Discovery" city of Dundee is only 8 miles away and the historic town of St Andrews " The Home of Golf "is 12 miles away with two fine sandy beaches. Leuchars main line station is 8 miles away and Edinburgh & Pitlochry can be reached within one hour.
The Angus hills and glens are easily accessible for day trips for walking and wildlife watching. Glamis Castle and Scone Palace are both within 40 minutes of Coultra Steading. The RSPB reserves of The Loch of Kinnordy and Vane Farm are nearby. It is also on The National Cycle Route for North Fife Coultra Steading is an ideal base to discover so many attractions of Scotland.
This self catering accommodation in North East Fife near St Andrews is situated all on the ground floor. The Stables is fully double-glazed and centrally heated, with views both front and rear. It consists of a modern very well equipped kitchen, two bedrooms,bathroom and large sitting/dining room The kitchen overlooks a landscaped courtyard for guests to relax in and have a barbeque if wanted.
A barbeque is keep in the Games Room for guests to use. This south facing sheltered area contains a patio table and chairs. Ideal for relaxing with a drink. Red Squirrels feed in the garden and in the courtyard along with woodpeckers and other birds. Buzzards fly overhead.
There is a large family bedroom containing a double and a single bed. This bedroom has a large east facing arched window. The bedroom was a former stable with the arched window being the entrance to the stable.
The single bedroom overlooks the front garden. The modern, light bathroom has a large walk in shower, WC and hand basin.
The very spacious sitting room/dining room with leather seating and co-ordinated soft furnishings also has a small double sofa bed. The dining table seats six people. Satellite TV and DVD player are in the sitting room. This light and airy room overlooks to the rear, a landscaped courtyard area, and to the front garden with beautiful open views.
The front garden has a seat in it so guests may enjoy the panoramic views and watch the birds in the Scots Pine trees. This front garden is for use of the guests. This is a very peaceful setting to enjoy the countryside. The Firth of Tay is less than a mile away at Balmerino and from here you have lovely views across the river to the Perthshire and Angus hills. You can join the Fife Coastal Path here.
Couples will enjoy the peacefu and relaxing surroundings. Families are very welcome. Children may like to see the hens we have on the steading and Harry our friendly pet dog.
There is a high chair, baby chair seat, baby bath and cot available on request as well.
A former cow byre, now a large Games Room, adjoins The Stables. This is equipped with such items as an exercise bike, small snooker table, Wii and Wii fit, sofa, piano, table and chairs, play station, CD player/radio, Ipod dock, toys and board games.
