    We have 3 bedrooms of a high standard with en-suite bath or shower rooms and views of the stunning Borders hills.

    One  room is on the ground floor and at same level as sitting/dining room and has an ensuite with a large shower.

    Central heating, drink making facilities with welcome tray and lcd TVs in all rooms.

    We have a  large separate guest sitting room with log burning stove, DVDs, games, books, local maps etc. French doors open out onto a terrace where guests can sit and relax with a drink and access to a mature garden where children are welcome to play.

    Ample private parking is available.

    A wide choice of cooked and continental breakfast including a full Scottish is served in the dining room and special diets can be catered for by arrangement. see menu here

    The Steadings B&B is the perfect place for a quiet relaxing break in the country, whilst only just over an hour away is Edinburgh, Carlisle and Newcastle. We are well placed for visiting the Border towns of Jedburgh (7 miles), Hawick (10 miles), Kelso, Selkirk, and Melrose as well as Northumberland with Hadrian's wall, Kielder Water and Forest and the towns of Hexham, Alnwick and Corbridge.

    Also available to let is a spacious self catering cottage which has been converted from the former granary which sleeps four people plus a cot (Z-bed by arrangement) giving luxuary accommodation where pets are welcome. See Web Site

    From the nearest information centre:- From Jedburgh TIC drive three miles south on the A68 - turn right at the Chesters 5 miles signpost. The Steadings is on the left just after you enter the village.

    From Hawick, take the A698 towards Jedburgh. 500yds after leaving Hawick turn right onto the A6088 follow this road for 8 miles through Bonchester Bridge and onto Chesters.
    Look left at the crossroads to see he Steadings on the right.

    Getting there by railway:- From Edinburgh or Newcastle - follow the A68 to Jedburgh.

    From Carlisle follow the A7 to Hawick
    Then as above. Both 55 miles.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- See above.

    Getting there by ferry:- From Rosyth - over Forth Bridge onto the City Bypass - A68 to Jedburgh, then as from TIC 70miles

    From Newcastle - docks - Follow A187, A193 and A167 through Newcastle. Then the A696 then A68 towards Jedburgh - 60 miles.

    From Hull - A1 north to Newcastle.

    From Stranrar take A75 to Dumfries and onto Gretna, take the A6071 for 3m towards Longtown and onto the A7 for 33miles to Hawick. Then as from TIC
