From the nearest information centre:- From Jedburgh TIC - 3 miles south on the A68 - turn right at Chesters 5 miles signpost. At T junction turn left, 3/4 mile. The Steadings is on the left just before the crossroads.
Getting there by railway:- From Edinburgh or Newcastle - follow the A68. From Carlisle follow the A7. All 55 miles.
Getting there by aeroplane:- From Edinburgh Airport take the A68 - 55 miles. From Newcastle Airport take the A696 onto the A68 north - 55 miles
Getting there by ferry:- From Rosyth - over Forth Bridge onto the City Bypass - A68 - 58 miles. From Newcastle - docks - A696 onto A68 - 58 miles.
From Hull - A1 north.
