The magical setting with loch, woodland and stream has marked foot paths and cycle routes through Drumtochty Forest for 12.4 miles.

    The quaint village of Auchenblae is only 2 miles away which has a 9 hole golf course with 18 hole championship courses available in the surrounding areas. Fettercairn Distillery, Dunnottar Castle, Crathes Castle and House of Dun are but a few of the attractions close at hand.

    Road Directions

    From Aberdeen head south on the A90 for 22 miles and turn right on the B966 towards Fettercairn/Auchenblae road, turn right on the first signpost for Auchenblae. On entering the village turn right onto Inverurie Street, proceed up the hill and turn left at the sign posted Drumtochty Glen, follow this road for about 2 miles. Drumtochty Stables is situated on the right hand side approximately ½ a mile past the main entrance to Drumtochty Castle.
    Coming from the south take the A90 north from Perth or Dundee and just north of Laurencekirk turn left, signposted to Auchenblae.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From Stonehaven TIC head south on Allardice St. to A957, continue south on the A90 (towards Dundee) for 6.8 miles and turn right on the B966 towards Fettercairn/Auchenblae road, turn right on the first signpost for Auchenblae. On entering the village turn right onto Inverurie Street, proceed up the hill and turn left at the sign posted Drumtochty Glen, follow this road for about 2 miles. The Turret, Drumtochty Stables is situated on the right hand side approximately ½ mile past the main entrance to Drumtochty Castle.



    Getting there by railway:- Aberdeen or Stonehaven are the nearest train stations. There are trains from London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Aberdeen International Airport follow the A96 south east toward Aberdeen and from there head south on the A90 towards Dundee/Perth. After 22 miles from Aberdeen turn right on the B966 towards Fettercairn/Auchenblae road, turn right on the first signpost for Auchenblae. On entering the village turn right onto Inverurie Street, proceed up the hill and turn left at the sign posted Drumtochty Glen, follow this road for about 2 miles. The Turret, Drumtochty Stables is situated on the right hand side approximately ½ a mile past the main entrance to Drumtochty Castle.
