Third Farm

Third Farm is a traditional farmhouse in the beautiful countryside of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

It offers a very peaceful and tranquil setting where you can enjoy being on your own with only the animals and wildlife for company or if you wish enjoy a wide ranging list of countryside pursuits.
Sited on a working farm it has panoramic views ranging from Ben Lomond on one side to the Campsie Hills on the other with an infill of rural scenes in between.
It is ideally located for many outdoor pursuits from walking, hill climbing ,cycling, fishing ,golfing ,horse riding, landscape painting, visiting historic buildings and even clay pigeon shooting
Within a 2 mile radius there are three villages, namely Gartocharn, Drymen and Croftamie each of which offer their own slant on country life and country living.
While further afield you have Balloch at the southern end of LochLomond Helensburgh with the famous Hill House on the Clyde estuary, Dumbarton the ancient capital of Strathclyde with its castle, Glasgow with many historical features and of course its shopping, Sirling the scene of many battles with its castle and of course Scotland's capital city Edinburgh. All of these can be accessed easily by car.
At Third Farm you can relax in comfort and enjoy a memorable stay within Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
Third Farm is a newly refurbished farmhouse within Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It is situated one mile outside the village of Gartocharn and set in the most idyllic surroundings with Ben Lomond on one side and the Campsie Hills on the other with a myriad of rural scenes in between.
It is a working farm with grazing beef cattle in the summer and breeding ewes all year round. In the spring it is lovely to watch the newborn lambs coming into the world and develop into healthy, delightful youngsters.
The house itself has been totally refurbished and offers three bedrooms with king size beds. Two of the rooms have zip and link matresses which allows the alternative of making these rooms into twin rooms if the need arises. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with the other two upstairs.
The living room is very comfortable with an open living gas fire, the kitchen/diner is fully equipped with gas hobb, electric oven , microwave, larder size fridge , dishwasher and dining table & chairs for six people. Off the kitchen there is a useful utility room which houses the boiler, washing machine, tumble drier, freezer and cleaning equipment.
There is one bathroom in the house which is of ample proportions for a family with Shower, Jaccuzzi bath, fitted cabinets with wash hand basin and heated towel rail.
The house itself is totally centrally heated and double glazed throughout including all external doors.
The house has satellite TV with around 50 freeview channels with each bedroom also having its own TV,There is a telephone and also wireless broadband offering free wi-fi.
There is a grassed garden to he front of the house where you can sit out and relax and ample car parking at the side of the house.There is also plenty space to enjoy a barbeque if weather permits.
Bed Linen and towels are supplied on a weekly basis and are included in the price. Gas and electricity is also included in the price unless there is excessive usage when a charge will be made.
Please note that it is essential to have a car as the only public transport is the bus service which runs every hour from the bottom of the road ( ½ mile from farmhouse )
The Third Farm is an ideal family location for a break from the hustle and bustle of city living.
