Overview

The self catering holiday property at Tigh na Seileach ("House of the Willows") in Bogha Glas are an ideal location for a relaxing and memorable holiday. With scenery that is a designated National Scenic Area and which made the backdrop for the BBCs 'Castaway' TV programme, there are a whole series of unspoilt glens, valleys and beaches for you to explore and enjoy. We are centrally located in a tiny village just off the main road and are a perfect base to explore both Lewis and Harris.


The property is on a working croft (owned by our next door neighbour) with sheep and a small herd of Highland cattle. We overlook Loch Seaforth at a sheltered inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, and are about 200 yards from the shore. The area is rich in wildlife, with herons, otters and golden eagles, if you are lucky. Fishing in nearby freshwater lochs can be arranged on request at incredibly reasonable rates with a neighbour who is the gillie for the North Harris estate - catches have included brown trout and wild salmon. There is excellent walking both on tracks and cross country with a Millenium network of marked walkways across Harris and also opportunities for on and off track cycling and mountain biking close to the house.
