Torlundy House is located in the rural settlement of Torlundy 3 miles from Fort William offering a rural tranquil setting but not too far from the facilities of the town when you need them.
Torlundy House is a guest house offering comfortable rooms in a modern contemporary way. We make an ideal base from which to explore the Western Highlands. One night is not enough to enjoy the area your own transport is essential to get the most from your stay with us as public transport is limited and the settlement of Torlundy has no local facilities, everything is in or near Fort William some 2 to 3 miles away.
We offer a variety of accommodation including single, double, triple and family rooms and aim to provide relaxed surroundings, comfortably furnished to a high standard. All our rooms are ensuite and have their own TV, radio and tea coffee making facilities.
Torlundy House is also our home and we are proud to offer a service that is different from hotels, however this does mean that our check in and check out times may be a little different. Our normal check in time is from 4pm to 9pm (16.00hrs to 21.00hrs). Check in outside these times is by prior arrangement. We also request check out by 10am (10.00hrs).
As there is so much to do and see in the area we recommend a stay of 2 or more nights, and from May to September inclusive we normally operate a minimum 2 night stay policy as required by the majority of our guests, as single night availabilty occurs it will show when you check to see if we have a room available. If you don't see what you want when you want it you can always telephone us or send us an email.
We have a comfortable guest lounge for you to relax in and reflect on your days activity as well as planning your next day, to which end we provide a wealth of information and advice to help you get the most from your stay.
A full Scottish Breakfast, using where possible local or Scottish produce, is served in our dining room with fantastic views of Ben Nevis, to set you up your day of exploring. Our menu is extensive with plenty to satify the most voraious appetite and most of the menu is suitable for vegetarians, however if there is something special you require in your diet we do ask you to tell when you make your booking.
The area offers a wealth of things to do whatever the weather including walking, climbing, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, touring by car, horse riding. Adrenalin filled activities are available in the area (ask us for details if this is your thing). Winter sports of skiing and ice climbing are also available. In fact there are more things to do and see than you "shake a stick at". For those wanting to surmount the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, you can set off from Torlundy House along the North Face Route, or take a short drive to the traditional "tourist route".
At the end of your day Fort William offers a good selection of places to eat out with menus ranging from typically Scottish to oriental. Seafood and salmon are of course local specialities, and to this end we have a list of local eatieries and menus to suit all tastes and pockets available with some places offering our guests a discount.
As we are 3 miles from the centre of Fort William and public transport to and from Torlundy is limited we strongly advise that you have your own transport. If you do not you will be mainly reliant on taxis which will substantially increase the cost of your stay.
