Overview
Amidst turquoise sea, white sand, dramatic mountains and shimmering lochs, Uig Lodge is set in one of the most spectacular positions in Scotland, overlooking the magnificent Uig Bay on the west coast of the Isle of LewisUig has managed to win the hearts of all who discover it. In 1945 and 1946 Arthur Ransome stayed at the lodge and it was the outstanding views that inspired the setting for "Great Northern", his last book of the Swallows and Amazons series. Other than a short spell as a hotel, Uig Lodge has remained a private house. Since 1981 it has been owned and loved by the Green family, who let it to parties looking for an unforgettable Scottish holiday and also offer bed and breakfast for couples seeking a romantic break in a wonderful and unique setting.
