From the nearest information centre:- Leave Tourist Information Centre and turn left onto Princes Street. Take first left onto Waverley Bridge. Walk down bridge to crossroads. Turn right and walk up Market Street and then left to follow the street up The Mound, round onto Bank Street to the traffic lights. Here you cross the Royal Mile and walk along George IV Bridge. When you come to the Bedlam Theatre (a converted church immediately ahead of you), take the fork to the right-hand side of the theatre: this is Forrest Road. Forrest Hill is the first street on the right immediately after Sandy Bell's pub. Walk to the end of Forrest Hill and you will find Number 3 at the end of the street.

Getting there by railway:- From the taxi rank in the railway station, a black cab costs about £6.
If walking (about 25 minutes) - leave the station by the Market Street exit (signposted), cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and turn right. Continue along Market Street, going straight on at the roundabout and continue up the hill. At the end of Market Street turn left to follow the street up The Mound, round onto Bank Street to the traffic lights. Here you cross the Royal Mile and walk along George IV Bridge. Getting there by aeroplane:- Official taxi from airport to 3 Forrest Hill (approx £20, or £8 for Edinburgh Shuttle minibus).
Airport Express Bus - every 15 mins from 0650 to 2140. Single ticket = £3 (£2 child) or open return = £5 (£3 child).
Hourly Night Service N22 (0045 to 0345). Single ticket = £2.
