You can be sure of a warm welcome to this family run guest house, with private parking, that is located on Dunoon's main street. Sir Harry Lauder owned the house from 1935 to 1937.

Mr Don McLean, Canada, states 'home away from home only treated better' and his brother Len states 'I could not recieve better service anywhere. Your a remarkable couple' (June 2011). We are very motor bike friendly with areas to store and charge up crash helmets etc. Verehat & Tina, Munich say 'Thank you for thenice and warm welcome-very biker friendly-thanks a lot' (Aug 2011).

All main shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and entertainment are within a few minutes walk and the local and through bus service have a stage stop outside our door. This allows visitors travelling without vehicles coming off the Argyll (CALMAC) ferry and takeing a local bus to our Guest House.

It is only a short walk to the promenade on the River Clyde and the pier that has a regular ferry service to Gourock. Also during the summer months, the last sea going paddle steamer, P.S. "Waverley", commences cruises from Dunoon pier.

Also within short walking distance are the bowling green, golf course and some beautiful walks, with the Bishop's Glen being one of many. Within a radius of five miles there are numerous forest walks, Benmore Botanic Gardens and Loch Eck.

Loch Fyne is only a 30 minute drive with Inveraray and Loch Lomond a 40 minute drive away each. To reach them you drive through the Argyll Forest Park, with tremendous scenery all around.

The area is ideal for walkers, sea and loch anglers, sailors, golfers, cyclists and those who want just rest, relaxation with possibly some night time entertainment. There is plenty at the local hotels, pubs, cinema and also some local halls. We have the Cowal Highland Gathering at the end of August each year and our guest house is only a 2 minute walk from the venue.

No matter what type of holiday you are seeking, Myra and John will do their best to help you enjoy it to the full.
Some entries from guests, Rose Arnott says 'Thanks once again, a great time feel like one of the family, see you next year' (Aug 2011 and been coming since2006).

Eva Zwick, Germany says 'Thank you for the many tips, Best breakfast in whole UK' (Aug 2010).

Eufeno Pat Rico, Palencia, says 'Friendly, very nice, Fantastic stay' (June 2011).

Iain Cumming, East Sussex says 'just what I needed after a hard day' There are very many more very satisfied customers so why not challenge us to make a great stay for you in Dunoon and Cowal.
