    Relax in quiet seclusion at Waterside Cottage, with views of open countryside in all directions. Stroll along to the Bridge Inn for some refreshments or cross the lane and join the riverside walk which leads all the way to Muiravonside Country Park. If the bustle of a busy holiday park isn’t your idea of a holiday, the peaceful surroundings of Waterside Cottage are for you.

    A short drive into Linlithgow brings you to a historic High Street with its high quality restaurants, cafes and bars. In the centre of Linlithgow stands the entrance to Linlithgow palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Stroll around the loch and feed the swans, explore the Linlithgow Heritage Trail or relax in a pavement café.  From the centre of Linlithgow take a fast train into the centre of Edinburgh for the evening, or take a day trip to Glasgow or Stirling.

    Waterside Cottage was fully renovated in 2011 and offers you self-catering accommodation of very high quality, fully modern yet retaining its 150 years of character. The cottage has a log stove, modern kitchen and bathroom, 3 bedrooms (one double, one twin and one single), a south-facing courtyard garden with decking and patio furniture, and private parking.

    Road Directions

    Heading West out of Linlithgow towards Falkirk, follow the A803 through
    Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge. The road leaves Linlithgow Bridge via the
    bridge over the River Avon. On crossing the bridge you you will see the
    Bridge Inn on your left. Turn left at the Bridge Inn, signposted to
    Muiravonside. Waterside Cottage is on your right approximately 100 yards
    further on.

    Heading East towards Linlithgow from Falkirk or from Junction 3 on the M9,
    follow the A803 to Linlithgow. As you reach Linlithgow Bridge you will see
    the Bridge Inn on your right. Turn right at the Bridge Inn, signposted to
    Muiravonside. Waterside Cottage is on your right approximately 100 yards
    further on.

    Public Transport Directions

    The nearest railway station is Linlithgow which is on the direct main line between Edinburgh and Glasgow and Edinburgh and Dunblane.

    If taking a taxi from Linlithgow station ask for the Bridge Inn. Alternatively, from Linlithgow High street there are a number of buses heading towards Falkirk via Linlithgow Bridge. The Bridge Inn is a short walk from the centre of Linlithgow Bridge, heading West along the main road towards Falkirk.
    Waterside cottage is approximately 100 m past the Bridge Inn on the road to Muiravonside Country Park.

    By Air

    Arriving at Edinburgh airport take the regular shuttle bus into Edinburgh. Leave the bus at Haymarket station or Waverley station where you can take a train to Linlithgow. Then follow the instructions for arriving by rail.
