Wedderburn Cottages are situated a mile from the charming village of Duns in Berwickshire. The Scottish Borders offer the perfect holiday location to suit a wide range of interests. Local attractions include beaches and areas of spectacular natural beauty including Coldingham (a Blue Flag accredited beach), St Abbs Head and Bamburgh, historical houses, priories and abbeys. Sporting activities include golf, trail and beach riding, cycling on nearby cycle-routes and rural walks through the unspoilt Berwickshire countryside. Hot-air ballooning, fishing and canoeing on the rivers Tweed and the Whiteadder and off-road driving are also available close to Wedderburn.
The Borders has a dramatic history and Duns is an ideal base to explore both the east and west borders and Northumberland. Inside, the spacious dining-kitchen has a farmhouse table and chairs for family dining, stone walls, a traditional fireplace, decorative range and a fully-equipped modern kitchen, complete with large Smeg fridge.
The sitting room has a stone fireplace with wood-burning stove, large flat-screen television with digital channels, DVD player and comfortable sofas for kicking back in front of the fire. There are wooden floorboards and antique floor tiles throughout the ground floor of the cottage, with the floorboards cut from a single ancient ash tree that grew beside the castle and fell in a storm.

Grooms Cottage
Groom's Cottage is an intimate retreat located in the former stables at Wedderburn Castle. It is surrounded by parkland, private driveways and woodland, with attractive walks.
The cottage has a ground floor kitchen-sitting room with an open fire and tiles salvaged from the old dairy at Paxton House. Other features include a table for two, comfortable sofa and television and DVD player. Upstairs there is a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with restored roll-top iron bath.
Outside the cottages there is a pretty garden with garden furniture, making it the perfect spot to relax in the sunshine or have a BBQ in summer."¨ There is parking for the lodge directly outside.
West Lodge
The West Lodge dates from around 1820 and combines historic charm with modern comforts and stylish decoration. It is surrounded by parkland, private driveways and woodland, with attractive walks. The property offers the privacy and quiet of the countryside, along with the convenience of being close to the pretty market town of Duns. The cottage has recently been renovated to a high standard.
Inside the lodge there is a large living area with double-height ceiling, two king-size bedrooms and one twin. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and one has a private bathroom.
Outside, there is a private lawn with garden furniture, making it the perfect spot to relax in the sunshine or have a BBQ in summer."¨ There is parking for several cars directly outside the lodge.

The separate dining-kitchen is a bright room with French doors, offering views across a spacious private lawn and surrounding countryside. It is fully-equipped with a wide variety of culinary essentials. The wooden flooring throughout the ground floor of the cottage provides a warm, atmospheric feel, and all floorboards were cut from a single ancient ash tree that grew beside the castle and fell in a storm.
The bedroom has a king-size bed and a full height window framing views of Wedderburn Castle and across the countryside. The chic limestone bathroom has a generous 1.9m bath with shower.
