If you are looking for a real 'home from home', with a warm, relaxed atmosphere, comfy beds, super showers and great food - situated in a quiet, tranquil setting - then we think you’ll like it here ...
Situated on the stunning Moray Firth between a patchwork of rolling fields and enchanting woodland, surrounded by wildlife, sits a cosy, friendly retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Located just over 5 minutes drive from the old fishing village of Cullen, West Manse is conveniently located for all the attractions of North East Scotland. From historic castles and quaint distilleries, picturesque harbours and miles of clean, sandy beaches to stunning golf courses, long and short distance walks and fabulous fishing opportunities.
West Manse was built in the early 1840's as a home for the Free Kirk minister. We have spent the last three years renovating our home and installing 21st century comforts whilst retaining much of the original Victorian charm.
This is not the sort of Bed and Breakfast where you feel you should stay in your room. We genuinely enjoy having guests to stay. Our guests are encouraged to enjoy the house and garden and to make the most of our facilities – we really do want you to feel “at home”. If you're not out and about, why not relax in the conservatory, curl up with a book in front of the log fire on a rainy afternoon or spend a while sitting in the garden enjoying the profusion of birds and maybe spot a badger. roe deer or pine marten!
We have two double rooms for guests. Ker overlooks the front garden and has a private bathroom next door (with double ended bath and separate shower) whilst Morrison looks into the adjoining woodland and has a lovely en-suite shower room. Both have king size beds with Egyptian cotton bedlinen, plenty of towels, cosy bathrobes, ipod/phone docks, hairdryer and other little extras that may come in useful. We have made the decision not to have TVs in our bedrooms but there are TV's downstairs so you won't miss anything!
We can cater for the special requirements of cyclists, walkers, anglers and golfers with storage and drying facilities, early breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals as required. Pete also has a keen interest in both Scottish history and local heritage and may be able to assist you with any genealogical enquiries.
Please visit our website www.west-manse.co.uk for full details – and we look forward to meeting to you very soon!
