At Whitfield Farmhouse a friendly welcome waits you with comfortable bedrooms, good local food and eggs from our free range chickens for breakfast and other meals on request. We give our guests friendly service and aim to make your stay a happy and restful one We aim to offer you a very comfortable stay in our farmhouse which is set in the beautiful Scottish Borders landscape just north of Berwick-upon-Tweed with outstanding views over the surrounding countryside. We are near Coldingham Beach where guests can use our beach hut, take part in surfing and diving, riding,local fishing, golf courses and visit historic sites and taste good local produce.
Where are we? We are equi distant between Edinburgh and Newcastle on the B6438 just off the A1. Our nearest railway town is historic Berwick-upon-Tweed and we have good road routes via the A1 to both Scotland and Northumberland and the south.
What do we offer? We have three double bedrooms and a children's room. Guests can relax in their own sitting room with an open fire and use the TV,music system and DVD library .Breakfast is served on sunny mornings in the garden or in our dining room which has great views of the garden.
Wild Camping can be arranged in advance in the orchard.
What are some things to do?
Beautiful walks are on the doorstep along the lane with local streams and coastal paths to enjoy and to cycle along. We have excellent local knowledge and have contacts with river and sea fishing, bird watching ,shooting, watersports and riding. You can play croquet,badminton and table tennis in the garden. In addition we have an art studio in the grounds and run drawing and painting classes based on local landscape,the coastal areas and wildlfe.
