Widefirth Self Catering Cottages

Widefirth Cottages are picturesquely set in the idyllic countryside of Rendall where they enjoy panoramic views over Widefirth Bay, looking out to Kirkwall and the Northern Isles of Orkney.

They are fully equipped, warm and comfortable and cater up to 6 people. The area is a haven for those with a keen interest in archaeology, bird watching, wildlife, as well as fishing. There are two coastal walks accessible from our working farm which takes in magnificent scenery.

Key features of the accommodation and area include:

•Luxurious four poster bed in master bedroom with large ensuite bathroom
•Two spacious twin bedrooms
•Relaxing spa bath in family bathroom
•Free internet access
•Complimentary Orkney produce provided on arrival
•Large garden with separate barbecue and patio area
•Orkney farm experience - learn about the environmental management measures
•Coastal walks and picnic area

There are no extra charges for electricity, heating, bed linen and towels.

Pets are welcome by arrangement.

Locally there are many activities to do, including visiting archaeological sites or wildlife hot-spots. Along the shoreline you can see seals, seabirds and occasionally otters. Wildfowl and waders can be watched on the loch of Brochan, while the RSPB reserve at Cottisgarth is a good place to see hen harriers. In the vicinity, there is an interesting doocot at the Hall of Rendall and a preserved broch at Gurness.

There are plenty of other activities to do in the area, including walking, beach-combing, and fishing. The ferry terminal to the northers isles of Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre is also within close proximity.

We are open all year. Brochure available on our website: www.orkney-selfcatering.com
