Woodend Chalet Holidays

The seven timber chalets and two new luxury lodges at Woodend are situated amongst the trees in a quiet and beautiful area of woodland in Royal Deeside, close to the charming town of Banchory and the new Cairngorms National Park.

A large central grassed area with views to the hills beyond provides a safe play area for children, or a peaceful spot for relaxing.

The grounds at Woodend are visited by Roe Deer and Red Squirrels, and a variety of birds, including Woodpeckers, Buzzards, Lapwing and many more. Osprey. Golden Eagles, Capercaillie and Red Deer are among the wildlife to be seen in the area.

The chalets have been newly refurbished to provide comfortable, contemporary accommodation complete with microwave, video, cd player, cafetiere etc. They have an open plan sitting/dining room and well equipped kitchen area, bathroom with shower and one or two bedrooms. The new luxury lodges have three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), a wood burning stove and a covered deck area. Bed linen and towels are provided in all accommodation. A cot and highchair are available free of charge, as are toy boxes and videos from our video library.

A new games room completes the accommodation at Woodend, with mini-snooker, table tennis, table football, some exercise equipment and books and toys for our younger visitors.

The nearby town of Banchory (5 mins by car), has a good selection of shops, and Aberdeen, the Granite City, is 35 mins away, and well worth a visit, with great shopping, impressive architecture, good food and excellent leisure facilities. Within a short drive there is an unrivalled selection of things to see and do including: several National Trust properties, the Victorian Heritage Trail, the spectacular Kincardineshire coast, the new Cairngorms National Park (a huge area of lochs, forests and mountains), fabulous bird and wildlife watching, many excellent golf courses and superb salmon and trout fishing.
