    Yethouse is a spacious luxury self catering farmhouse cottage on the outskirts of Newcastleton village, located in the southern Scottish Borders, 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms comfortably sleeping 8.   2 well behaved dogs are welcome during your stay, Yethouse has enclosed secure gardens.  FREE WIFI.     Yethouse has loads of space; a master bedroom with king size bed and en suite. The Captains Room has twin or a double  plus  a day bed with a trundle under, ideal for children to share, or perfect for a couple. It has its own family bathroom with shaver point.     You will enjoy superb panoramic views with easy access to local forests and habitats. World class 7stanes mountain bike trails are on your doorstep. Rock UK activity centre are our neighbours for those looking for more adventurous persuits; abseiling, water walzers, swimming, rope walking, climbing bike hire and many more.

    Luxuriously furnished and equipped to the highest standards, Yethouse has a fully fitted kitchen, FREE WIFI, large screen 3D HDTV with blu ray DVD player. The parlour also has a 50inch TV so there is no need to argue!  Three large bedrooms sleeping 8,  each with their own bathroom. A large comfy lounge and parlour both with real fires, separate dining room - loads of space to chill out, relax and unwind.  

    The village offers all local ameneties; 2 hotels, 1 pub, 2 cafes - open all year round for food and drinks.

    Cycling or Mountain Biking - spolit for choice with an abundant range of cycling & mountain bike trails surrounding us from the 7stanes to Kiedler Water and the famous Lonely Pine Trail.  Secure lock up and washing facilities provided. Walking our forest offers  plenty of variety with varying degrees of difficulty all with stunning views. If you rise early enough you might be lucky and see deer, hare.  Plan an evneing wathcing the badgers

    Water & Wildlife - Kielder Forest and Water Park is 30 minutes away, see Osprey, take a  boat trip, beautiful walks, an observatory and forest art gallery. Try their  bike trails which now cover nearly 30 miles of track or you can cycle through to Kielder from the trails at Newcastleton.

    The village has a challenging nine hole golf course - there are never any queues, except maybe on a Sunday when the members play their medal competitions! 

    The Borders is infamous for its savage warring families who fought and foraged for generations across the region. The best way to understand its history and see famous sites is to follow the Reiver Trail. Hermitage Castle is our local historic site which is a must.

    Genealogy; if yuo have past connections check them out  at the Heart of Hawick which houses a state of the art genealogy centre. For a small fee it is amazing how much the experts can uncover - it would be wise to book this in advance of your stay.

    There is a lot to see whatever time of year you decide to visit, or if you prefer, you can just shut the door behind you and lock the world out for a few days.

    Road Directions

    South - M6 Carlisle, take A7 exit, turn right at Canonbie. Follow B6357 for 10 miles. Immediately after entering the village turn right crossing over the River Liddel. Keep to the left, following the signs to the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Trails. Turn sharp right continuing to follow the signs to the bike trails. Yethouse is on the left after crossing the cattle grid. Approach from the main drive way. The black metal gate should be closed, please close once you've entered. Drive into the courtyard and park to the left in front of the farmhouse.

    North - M74 from Galgow or A7 or A68 from Edinburgh. Exit the village with the sports field on your left, take the left turn over the bridge and cross the River Liddel, as above.

    Public Transport Directions

    Train; our nearest mainline station is Carlisle where you can also hire a car, the clsoest is Gretna.

    Airports - we are fortunate to be within 2 hours drive of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle airports and only 3 hours from Manchester. All offer a range of international and domestic routes.
