Agriculture has an important role within the Scottish economy; The International Federation of Agricultural Journalists World Congress will show its historical context and its exciting, dynamic future as we find ways to feed more people with fewer resources.
Innovations from a Small Island is masterminded by the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists, which celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2014. The Guild has long had extensive representation within Scotland and it is thanks to this enthusiastic supporters it has made a successful bid to host the prestigious International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) World Congress in 2014.
Based in Aberdeen, the Congress will host around 250 international agricultural journalists on a four-day study, knowledge and networking visit, learning and reporting on the multi-faceted aspects of Scottish agriculture and enjoying all that Scottish farming, food and culture has to offer.
The IFAJ is a global, non-political, professional association with members in 32 countries, including India, the most recent admission. In addition to paying members, each Congress also welcomes up to 10 young agricultural journalists from developing countries, enrolling them in a masterClass programme to improve and progress their careers.
