Shetland Nature Festival 2014 is the 7th annual event which celebrates Shetland’s unique and natural heritage with a range of events including nature walks, boat trips, craft activities and family days.
The Nature Festival will again team up with European Geoparks Week in recognition of Shetland’s European and Global Geopark status, and to highlight the incredible diverse geology found throughout the islands.
Whether you'd like to sit amongst Puffins at some of Europe's most spectacular seabird colonies, watch Killer Whales as they hunt around the coast, see otters up close or find some of Britain's rarest flowers, Shetland has it all and there's no better time to visit than during the Shetland Nature Festival. Events take place every day during the week in a range of locations throughout the islands. The full programme of events will be available online from the end of March.
The event is arranged by Shetland Amenity Trust, along with partners, RSPB Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage.
