The celebrations will kick off with a weekend of festivities in Arbroath on 5 and 6 April focusing on history, heritage and genealogy, as well as the quality produce available locally.
Throughout the weekend, Historic Scotland will offer visitors free entry to Arbroath Abbey, where the Declaration was signed. On Saturday 5 April there will be historical activities for the whole family at Arbroath Abbey and on Sunday 6 April there will be a commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath. Other activities over the weekend will include guided heritage walks, a family history event and a Taste of Angus food event at Arbroath Harbour, followed by a fantastic programme of local events throughout Angus from 7 – 13 April.
The full programme will be available online from February 2014.
