Amber is a traditional Scottish restaurant located within The Scotch Whisky Experience on The Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

Amber restaurant's menus combine the best of traditional Scottish flavours and ingredients in unique and exciting dishes to delight the palate.

Our team of chefs source all of our food with a painstaking eye for quality. Our menus change with the seasons and all of our food reflects the regional diversity of Scotland's larder.

Scottish estate bred beef and lamb, prime game, wild salmon and the freshest vegetables are all sourced with care and attention.
Then behind the kitchen doors, Amber restaurant’s elite team of chefs carry out a delicious alchemy, creating the quintessentially Scottish menu.

Amber is unique in its approach to providing fabulous Scottish cuisine matched with an amazing variety of single, malt, blended and Scotch whisky liqueurs together with exclusively designed Scotch whisky cocktails. A whisky sommelier is on hand every evening to give diners advice and guidance. Our close relationship with Scotland's distillers offers us an unparalleled range of whiskies. Our traditional whisky bar stocks over 300 different single malts, blends, liqueurs or cocktails.

Beautiful settings, atmospheric lighting and attentive yet unobtrusive service are sure to delight you and your guests. The Amber restaurant is also available for private dining and weddings.

The Taste of Scotland Tour includes our Platinum Whisky tour followed by a food tasting experience in our Amber Restaurant. Private Room (s) available - Within The Scotch Whisky Experience we have a variety of impressive private dining rooms suitable for many occasions. The Amber Restaurant can also be hired privately for more than 35 diners. We can accommodate up to 80 diners in Amber Restaurant.
Tasting menu - Visitors can enjoy the Platinum Whisky Tour at The Scotch Whisky Experience followed by a food tasting experience in Amber Restaurant. The food tasting includes a 3 course sample sized menu with a selection of bite sized Scottish tapas to enjoy as a starter, a taster of Scottish main dishes followed by sticky toffee pudding matched with a dram of Scotch Whisky. The whole tasting experience provides a true taste of the best of Scottish cuisine. The Taste of Scotland tour runs daily at 5.45pm (subject to availability). The Platinum Tour starts at 5.45pm, with the tasting experience starting in Amber Restaurant at approximately 7.15pm. From novice to connoisseur, our whisky sommelier will help you to select your perfect dram. In the evening, the whisky bar is only open to diners and is a great place to peruse the menu whilst sipping a cocktail or to relax after your meal.
Wine By The Glass - We do offer a number of wines by the glass (red, white and rose).
