Barley Bree Restaurant with Rooms

Barley Bree is a former coaching inn, situated in a pretty village, not far from the market town of Crieff. A small, family run hotel in rural Perthshire, offering good quality food using great local produce.

Everything is cooked on the premises by chef/patron Fabrice Bouteloup; his menus cleverly incorporate French and Italian ideas with Scottish game and seafood. There is an excellent selection of wines and spirits and friendly attentive service.

There is also a small lounge for guests to enjoy a drink by the open fire, before or after their meal. There are 6 comfortable rooms for those who like a weekend in the countryside and Perthshire certainly has plenty to offer.

Barley Bree is pleasantly situated in the lovely village of Muthill Perthshire. Inside, the rustic wooden floor and original stone walls are complemented with fetching metal plaques detailing various fish in a contemporary way which all adds to the ambience of the restaurant. The centrally placed wood burning stove creates a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy the meals served by a friendly and efficient front of house team.

Rump of Lamb, Orange,Fennel and Radish Salad, with Barigoule Artichoke: "The rump of lamb was sliced and neatly arranged adjacent topomme puree topped with a half courgette filled with salad.The dish looked clean, precise and very appealing." "The lamb was tender, succulent and flavoursome." "The dish was proportionate and balanced with a very good combination of flavours."
