The City Merchant is a family run restaurant in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City area. The Almiento family have been operating the Seafood restaurant since 2009 and focus on great food, great service and always a friendly smile. The rustic restaurant along with the fresh local produce make this restaurant very popular.
As well as the main restaurant area, City Merchant also offers private dining options. The VIP loft area is ideal for small intimate gatherings or business meetings between 12-16 people. The Cellar Function Suite is available for up to 45 people, self contained with its own bar, the ideal rendevous for informal gatherings.
For starters choose from West Coast Mussels, Oysters, Scallops, Langoustines and Seared Wood Pigeon Breast to name a few! Signature main courses are The Scottish Seafood Platter, Collops of Fillet Steak with Oatmeal Crusted Haggis Mousse and a Whisky Jus and Duo of Scottish Venison with Butternut Squash Puree, Puy Lentils and Maderia Jus. Sweets feature Steamed Marmalade Pudding with Glayva & Orange Ice Cream, Chocolate & Caramel Mousse, Pistachio Sponge & Slow Cooked Plums or you may choose the fine Cheese Selection.

City Merchant Boulliabase: A Modern interpretation on a classic dish. It is a fish and seafood broth using a variety of the freshest fish and shellfish available. It is flavoured with garlic, white wine, vegetables, orange and tomato all slowly cooked together and served with toasted garlic bread.
