David Bann Restaurant is a buzzing local establishment that has a commanding position just off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. The furnishings are of a quality, contemporary style and the dining room has a spacious feel to it. The menu has an array of vegetarian choices including many unusual combinations and all made in house. Food served by capable, friendly and efficient staff.
Tartlet of blue cheese and slow dried tomato: "The round of the tartlet was centred on the plate and the dish was full of colour contrast from the tomato in the centre of the tart, the leaves underneath and the balsamic reduction and small circles of red pesto on the plate." "The thin pastry was very fine and crisply cooked to contain the light Dunsrye Blue cheese and céme fraiche filling." "Skilled pastry making as it was delightfully short. The lightness and tanginess of the blue cheese was preserved when mixed and baked with the céme fraiche."
