The restaurant is housed in a 200-year-old building, and has retained its original flagstone floor and stone walls.
The hotel chef is always happy to cater for special diets - however, advanced notice is appreciated. We cater for all who appreciate good home cooking. We offer a daily changing menu featuring traditional French and Scottish cuisine, using fresh local produce. Our speciality is seafood, such as prawns, lobsters and crabs from the bay, or fresh fish from Kinlochbervie or Lochinver. Scottish beef, lamb and venison are purchased from one of the best butchers in the Highlands. Home cooked bar meals are also available daily, as are packed lunches for residents.
EatScotland Says:
A cosy restaurant with a conservatory area with views to the rear garden. Local produce is used whenever possible with some home produced salad and vegetables also being incorporated into the menu which has an emphasis on local seafood.
Grilled Whole Lemon Sole with Flaked Almonds served with Crushed New Potatoes with a Lemon and Saffron Butter:
"Well presented on the plate, the whole lemon sole was decorated with coloured almonds and lots of chopped parsley while the crushed potatoes took on colour from the lemon and saffron butter. A wedge of lemon on the side acted as an additional garnish." "A delicious Lemon Sole, fresh and tender coming easily away from the bone." "The Sole had a lovely gentle flavour which was complemented by the lemon and saffron potatoes and the almonds."
