Giacappazzi’s has recently been awarded by the ice cream alliance a Best in Britain Award

Giacopazzi's chocolate fudge brownie flavoured ice cream was declared the best of the best at the National Ice Cream Competition.

The Giacopazzi family have been making ice cream in Eyemouth since 1898 when founder Lorenzo Giacopazzi stopped off in Eyemouth on his way from Italy to America.  The winning ice cream was developed over six months combining traditional Italian methods passed down over the generations with a modern twist.  "The ice cream was created especially for The National Ice Cream Competition and has never been offered for sale - now we have people clamouring to try it," said Peter.  "It took us six months to perfect the recipe and it really is something special. It has a wonderful chocolate and caramel texture and rich flavours."  Peter added: "We have won medals previously for our ice cream but to be judged the Best in Britain really is something special."
