Takes place on the 1st Sat of every month from 9am to 1pm at the High Street, Montrose.
The market attracts somewhere between 15 and 25 stallholders on a regular basis.
The produce on sale includes; beef, lamb, pork, venison (all non-organic and organic), free range chicken, jams and preserves, plants, soap, eggs, fish from the North Sea as well as further a field, drinks, and vegetables and fruit.
Angus is well known for its locally produced beef, lamb and soft fruits, especially strawberries and raspberries.
The market tries to attract young buskers who wish to display their artistic talents.
We have a barbecue which provides tasters for the stallholders as well as selling food to the public. The Market is innovative and is always trying new ideas and it proposes to carry out food tastings comparing locally produced food, with low mileage attached to it, to certain items of fresh produce that can be found in our supermarkets. We are trying to promote the logo Buy Local, Eat Local.
